Marmot Basin Awarded Best New Lift…from Ski Canada Magazine
Jasper Ski Area on Track for Record Season

Marmot Basin ski area has recently been awarded the best Longest (and most hard won) new lift by Ski Canada Magazine. The award recognizes the significance of this massive new ski lift project and the vast improvement it has made to the ski area. The lift gets skiers and riders to the top of the upper slopes in less than half the time it took previously and has changed the way the mountain is skied. Ski Canada also awarded Marmot with Best off the mark for their earliest opening ever, November 11, 2009.

Ever since opening on November 11, Marmot Basin has been setting new attendance records and delighting skiers and boarders who are discovering a much improved area.
Record snowfall, the area’s new Canadian Rockies Express and a new and much bigger Rogers terrain park have all contributed to the successful season that has surpassed expectations. “We knew we had a winning season on our hands with the installation of our new high speed quad chair but the skier turnout this season has been phenomenal”, said Brian Rode, Marmot’s VP of Marketing. “Marketing a ski area is a whole lot easier when conditions are this good and you have the biggest new chairlift in North America”

Marmot Basin and Jasper hotels have also partnered up to offer significant savings to skiers and boarders when they purchase a hotel and lift ticket package. The Snow Days midweek package is offered beginning Feb 1 and provides a 30% discount on midweek ski and stay packages. The Ski 3 for 2 package offers 3 nights accommodation and 3 days of lift tickets for the price of two.

With three months still left in the season, skiers and boarders have plenty of time to take advantage of the near perfect ski conditions and try out the new chairlift at Marmot Basin. Be sure to check out our website for special events at www.skimarmot.com.
